CIO Organization Strategic Plan 2020-2024 - Message from the CIO

I’m delighted to present a one-year extension of our CIO Organization (CIOO) Strategic Plan 2020 – 2024

Last year, during our Let’s Get Aligned session, the CIOO conducted a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis as an organization. The SWOT analysis helped inform an update to our priorities and goals and a refresh of our performance metrics. We will conduct a more formal rewrite of our strategic plan in 2024, which will carry us into 2025 and beyond. In the interim, this plan will serve as a ‘bridge’ that reflects our 2024 journey.

Among the notable revisions are the addition of high-level priority areas, alignment of objectives with the SWOT analysis, and an update of the balanced scorecard metrics. Many of the other key elements of the plan remain unchanged.

Our three 2024 priorities are Strengthening Our Foundation; Modernizing IT for the Business; and Fostering a Healthy Culture.

A solid strategic plan is a roadmap for the future. It sets us on a course and provides specific directions for reaching the destination. This plan illustrates the Corporation’s IT vision and direction for technology initiatives while providing guidance as we make future investment decisions.

We created a CIOO Strategy-at-a-Glance to communicate the 30,000-foot view of our plan and a Roadmap-at -a-Glance to show where your work fits into the organization’s strategic direction. These are valuable tools to help us drive the focus and success of the strategic plan!

As we continue our shared commitment to excellence, we move closer to becoming the most respected and trusted information and technology organization within the Federal Government. I am feeling very positive about what lies ahead in 2024.

I look forward to continuing on this journey with you.
