Luke Watson

Luke joined the FDIC in August 2021 as a Senior Financial Economist in the Quantitative Risk Analysis section after completing his PhD in economics at Michigan State University. Luke’s research interests are government policy towards low-income individuals, housing markets, and local economic performance. His favorite economic phenomena are tax incidence and adverse selection. Luke has taught undergraduate economics courses, tutored mathematics in the AEA Summer Program, assisted the ODU Regional Forecasting Project, and has Sworn Status for Census RDC projects. Luke grew up in Portsmouth, VA and received a BA and MA in economics from Old Dominion University.
