Chief FOIA Officer and FOIA Public Liaison

In response to the President's Executive Order of December 14, 2005 (Improving Agency Disclosure of Information), the FDIC has designated a Chief Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Officer. The Chief FOIA Officer is Harrel Pettway, General Counsel. He may be reached at hpettway@fdic.gov or by telephone at (703) 562-2651.

FOIA Public Liaison

In further response to the aforementioned Executive Order, the Chief FOIA Officer has designated the FDIC Ombuds as the FOIA Public Liaison. The FOIA Public Liaison serves as a supervisory official to whom a FOIA requester can raise concerns about the service received from the FDIC's FOIA/Privacy Act Group. The FOIA Public Liaison is the FDIC Acting Ombuds who can be reached at FOIAPublicLiaison@fdic.gov or by telephone at 703-562-6040.
