Agents for Service of Process

The FDIC requests that a party serving a hard copy document on the FDIC in a new matter also provide an electronic courtesy copy to CourtesyCopy@FDIC.gov. An emailed courtesy copy does not substitute for service of process requirements. Providing an electronic courtesy copy will enable the FDIC to more easily account for, respond to and track a party's submission. This request does not apply to pending matters in which parties already serve the FDIC electronically.

ATTENTION: If you name the FDIC (in any capacity) as a party to a lawsuit in federal or state court, please note that service of process on any of the agents listed below does not, by itself, complete service of process on the FDIC. If you wish to serve process on the FDIC as a party to a lawsuit in either federal or state court, you must serve one of the agents listed below (in the appropriate jurisdiction), AND the Attorney General of the United States in Washington, D.C., AND the United States attorney for the district in which the lawsuit is brought. Service of process on the FDIC is not complete until all three of these steps are completed.
