Bank Failures

Failed Bank Information - Question and Answer Guide

To Whom It May Concern:

On Friday, February 24, 2012, ("Closing Date"), the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency closed Home Savings of America, Little Falls, MN, ("Failed Institution") and appointed the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation ("FDIC") as Receiver to handle all matters relating to the failed institution.

Because no other financial institution assumed the deposits of Home Savings of America, any outstanding checks are being returned "Bank Closed". This situation was the result of the bank failure and is not a reflection on the depositor. Since the depositor of the failed bank was not aware that Home Savings of America would close, they believed their checks would clear in the normal course of business. Therefore, we ask that you consider waiving any returned check charges and penalties due to these special circumstances.

Your cooperation and understanding are greatly appreciated. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter, please contact FDIC Customer Service at 1-800-523-8089.
