Ladies and/or Gentlemen:

The financial institution for which I work, Alamo Bank of Texas, has been
reclassified as a large bank under CRA guidelines. Our total assets are
less than $300,000,000.00, making us a relative small institution in these
times. The CRA grading criteria used to measure the performance of an
institution of our size should be radically different from that of a multi
billion dollar bank. There is no way we can compete in the market, in most
ways, with these truly large institutions.

The burden placed upon those of with similair financial status will be
unfair. I hope to see that the grading criteria which determines large and
small bank status will be revised. Thank you in advance for helping many
of us who are truly community banks continue to support our friends and
neighbors.

Sincerely,

Janice Ciomperlik
Sr. Vice President
Alamo Bank of Texas
Alamo, TX
