Subject: community reinvestment act

Dear Mr. Feldman,

I understand you are considering changes to the Community Reinvestment Act which would change the definition of small banks to those with assets of under $1 Billion. In a small state such as New Hampshire, this could have the effect of giving almost all of our banks a de facto exemption from rigorous CRA evaluation. This will have a harmful effect on our communities, which have benefited from CRA-related lending and investment.

Please withdraw this proposal.

Thank you for your attention.

Sincerely,

Arnold Alpert
