I strongly oppose the proposed rule changes in the Community Reinvestment Act (RIN 3064-AC50). This action will do harm to rural communities. : Vermont Development Credit Union, a social mission depository and CDFI, has provided $125 million in fair and affordable financing to underserved Vermonters. This could not have happened without investment and other support from bank partners. Under the new regulations, the number of banks in Vermont that are subject to full CRA would be reduced from 7 to 1, with severely negative consequences for our underserved target population.
