Economic Inclusion Roundtable: Financial Services, Asset Building and Economic Development in Puerto Rico


The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) will host a webinar in Spanish targeted to banks and credit unions to highlight the importance of offering low- or no-cost account access. The webinar will focus on community-based organizations (CBOs) that encourage low- and moderate-income (LMI) clients to establish such accounts along with asset building initiatives including first-time home buying programs. Experts will outline asset-building initiatives aimed to assist LMI individuals gain access to safe and affordable financial products and services to help them build financial stability. Participants will learn from community stakeholders about ongoing efforts to help overcome barriers to economic inclusion among LMI households in rural communities in Puerto Rico.
