FDIC Hosts Webinar to Promote Homeownership Among Language-Challenged Latinos in East Los Angeles

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) will host a webinar to promote homeownership among language-challenged Latinos in East Los Angeles, which is significantly lower than the rest of California. The population in East Los Angeles is 97% Latino Homeownership in and a large portion of residents are foreign-born. This event focuses on promoting sustainable collaborations among members of the local financial eco-system to increase trust in the U.S. banking system, and to promote safe homeownership resources and affordable funding options for language-challenged Latinos. The event is part of the San Francisco regional Spanish-speaking Communities Initiative and will address opportunities identified during a 2021 FDIC listening session to work with local faith-based leaders and other influential community stakeholders to increase home ownership in East Los Angeles.
