FDIC Train the Trainer: Money Smart for Young Adults –Modules 1 & 11

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) will host a national webinar in recognition of Financial Aid Awareness Month (February) and National Consumer Protection Week (March 3 - March 9, 2024). The training will feature the Money Smart for Young Adults (MSYA) curriculum, which is an instructor-led curriculum that provides young adults ages 16 to 24 with practical knowledge, skills-building opportunities, and resources they can use to manage their finances with confidence. Instructors can use MSYA to deliver unbiased, relevant and accurate financial education whether they are new or experienced trainers.

This Train the Trainer session will focus on the following MSYA modules:

  • Module 1- Bank On It: Explains how people can build positive relationships with financial institutions.
  • Module 11- Paying for Education and Training: Explains how to consider the benefits and costs of education and training after high school and how to pay for it.

Financial education is central to FDIC efforts that expand economic inclusion and promote confidence in the banking system. This national training session and the MSYA curriculum are part of the FDIC Money Smart program, which offers high-quality, non-copyrighted, FREE financial education resources for banks, schools, non-profits, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders to help train and improve the financial capability of people of all ages and small businesses.

Banks, credit unions, community development financial institutions (CDFIs), educators, community colleges, universities, workforce development centers, and other organizations and individuals interested in using Money Smart for Young Adults.
