The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) will host Promoting Account Access in the BIPOC Communities of the Ocean and Pine Tree States. This event will provide awareness of the disparity of unbanked BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) individuals in the states of Rhode Island and Maine. The event also aims to encourage efforts by community stakeholders to help BIPOC individuals enter the banking system, principally through access to low-cost transaction accounts available in each state.
