FDIC and OCC Host Promoting Affordable Bank Accounts in the Springfield MSA BIPOC Community

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) will host Promoting Affordable Bank Accounts in the Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) Community. This event that will provide awareness of the disparity of unbanked BIPOC individuals, particularly Latinos, in the Springfield, MA MSA. The event also aims to encourage efforts by community stakeholders to help BIPOC individuals in the community enter the banking system, principally through access to low-cost transaction accounts available in the area.

Financial institutions, Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), non-profit organizations, other community-based organizations, state and local government, and other stakeholders interested in the opportunities to promote economic inclusion and mobility in BIPOC and low- and moderate-income communities.
