FDIC Hosts Tackling Affordable Housing for Boston Residents: How to Increase Homeownership Opportunities for Section 8 Homebuyers

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) will host a webinar highlighting programs to help Boston residents achieve the goal of homeownership. The event will provide information on Boston Housing Authority's (BHA) First Home Program, a partnership with the City of Boston Mayor’s Office of Housing, where the City provides eligible BHA residents with enhanced down payment assistance of up to $75,000 for a home purchased within the City of Boston. Presenters who participate in BHA’s First Home Program will discuss how they address affordable housing needs under the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston (FHLB-Boston) will provide information on its efforts to increase homeownership in underserved communities with their Special Purpose Credit Program.
