Summary of Deposits Survey

TO: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
SUBJECT: Summary of Deposits Survey for June 30, 1996

The annual Summary of Deposits (SOD) form and instructions will be mailed to your institution the first week in July for the period ending June 30, 1996. The SOD form and instructions have been revised. Additional information is now sought on the form, and changes in the reporting requirements have been made.

Revisions to the SOD form include the following:

  • The form now includes a "change code," which indicates a change in the status of a branch, and a "service type," which designates branch criteria. These codes have been defined in the SOD instructions.

  • Banks are now required to report only "total deposits" for each office as defined in the Call Report. "IPC" and "all other deposits" have been deleted from the SOD form.

  • A "Changes to Branch Structure Data" page has been added to the SOD form to reflect new or acquired branches since the prior reporting period. If a reportable office, or facility, is not included on your SOD form, add the office information ( FDIC-assigned office number, if available; office name; and office address) on the page provided.

Thank you for your cooperation in making the SOD survey as accurate and complete as possible. For further information, please call Joy L. Castillo, Supervisory Program Specialist in the Division of Supervision, on (202) 898-6938.
