The FDIC seeks to encourage insured depository institutions and their partners to prudently serve the financial needs of emerging entrepreneurs and small businesses. The FDIC conducts regional and local outreach and information sharing activities on a wide range of economic inclusion and community development topics including small business lending and technical assistance topics. These activities are often held in conjunction with other federal, state and local agencies, and community organizations.

Small business credit workshops and events are designed for community banks, small business owners and others interested in small business development issues to learn more about innovative products and programs from federal and other sources to expand the access to credit and financial services to small businesses. Participants learn about federal programs and other resources that can enhance or expand small business related lending activities in their local markets.
