Subject: Community Reinvestment -- RIN 3064-AC50

Dear Sirs: I represent a tri-state non-profit ecumenical organization of
Catholic, Lutheran, United Methodist, Presbyterian, United Church of
Christ, Episcopal, Quaker and Unitarian people. We've been working since
the 1980s farm crisis in our region to bring about greater justice,
earth stewardship and community for our farmers. We strongly oppose changes to the Community Reinvestment Act and the
manner in which these changes are being made with little public comment.
Investments in our farmers and farming cooperatives that seek higher
margins of return, value-added dollars and direct market relationships
need to be increased - not decreased. Investments in small-scale and
regional food processing and farm related infrastructure need to be
increased - not decreased. Please allow us to make a public presentation to you; please consider
alternatives to the directions you are pursuing. Our farmers and farm
communities are in desperate need of these sorts of reinvestment
strategies. Sincerely, Tony Ends, DirectorChurches' Center for Land and People
