Subject: CRA

Dear Chairperson and Commission Members

I oppose the FDIC's proposal to allow banks with assets above $250 million to be examined as small banks under the Community Reinvestment Act. This policy would reduce lending, investments and services in low-income communities.

The CRA has been extremely beneficial to low-income communities. The U.S. has a very poor record of helping to maintain and improve low-income communities. The CRA has assisted in changing this trend. Banks have an obligation to serve populations that provide them with their savings; this includes low-income communities.

I urge you to be responsible and deny the FDIC proposal to weaken the CRA.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely

Peter von Christierson
