Dear Sirs: I strongly oppose the FDIC's proposal to allow banks with assets above $250 million to be examined as small banks under the Community Reinvestment Act.
This policy would reduce badly needed lending, investments, and services in low-income communities. Non-profit organizations dedicated to the revitalization of poor neighborhoods would lose essential allies in their effort to create affordable housing and provide needed services to stabilize residents.
