The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) will co-host a virtual forum that highlights activities that revitalize and stabilize federally designated disaster areas and how bank participation in such activities can receive positive consideration under the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). This event will foster collaboration between banks, community development financial institutions (CDFIs), and community-based organizations to support effective disaster recovery, revitalization, and stabilization efforts in federally designated disaster areas. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of CRA, strategies that communities may use to prepare for natural disasters, and how to leverage state and federal resources for maximum impact to strengthen communities impacted by such disasters.
