I am urging withdrawal of the proposed changes to the Community Reinvestment Act. More not less scrutiny of banking lending and investing services within low and moderate income communities (urban or rural) is needed. I fear that the proposed criterion could result in a reduction in affordable rental housing investments. I live in a community where affordable housing is very much needed. Also economic development projects need to be supported in low and moderate income communities especially in regard to access to banking services. I wish to express my agreement with considerations contained in the letter written by John Carr, the US Bishop's Secretary for Social Development and World Peace.
