Subject: proposed changes to CRA

I am writing to register my opposition to proposed change in the definition of the small bank threshold from $250 million to $1 billion. The Community Reinvestment Act is a critical component to my community’s affordable housing and community development solutions. I oppose any increase to the threshold of what is considered to be a small bank. The proposed FDIC rule would exempt many of my community’s critical partners from the effective and productive requirements currently in place. Without CRA regulation, many banks would pull their support of essential community and economic development which my community needs.

I strongly urge FDIC to withdraw its proposed rule.
