The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) will host a meeting focusing on increasing capital access for small businesses in Illinois. This convening will share examples of programs that effectively reach under resourced entrepreneurs. Presenters will share the impact of supporting these entrepreneurs. Participants will learn how to overcome challenges in reaching this market. Additionally, financial institutions will learn how they benefit from serving under resourced entrepreneurs, including receiving Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) consideration. Key stakeholders from Illinois state and local governments and a local Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) plan to share insight on State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) and other collaborative opportunities for financing small businesses.
