Regulatory Conference Call:
Troubled Debt Restructuring

On October 27, 2011, the
FDIC's Chicago Regional Office will host a Regional Regulatory Teleconference. Our topic for the teleconference will be
"Troubled Debt Restructuring."
The 60 minute session will
discuss outstanding guidance on troubled debt restructurings including the
recently issued Accounting Standards Update (ASU) No. 2011-02, "A Creditor's Determination
of Whether a Restructuring Is a Troubled Debt Restructuring." Emphasis will focus on examiner experiences
during examinations including common mistakes and best practices.
Our speakers, Assistant
Regional Director David K. Mangian, Regional Accountant Pamela Rich,
Supervisory Examiner Eric Walbeck and Senior Examiner Terrence O'Neil, will
provide their unique insights regarding relevant accounting and regulatory
guidance, and examination findings.
The teleconference is
primarily open to FDIC-supervised institutions in the Chicago Region. Bank directors, officers, and staff members
are welcome to participate. Participants
may call in from any location and are not required to be onsite at their
