Auditing Applications Systems Development

Program Overview
Participants will explore audit strategies that will enable them to audit and evaluate applications systems development. The course will review common applications development risks and challenges, how to overcome them and the impact of Sarbanes-Oxley.

Key Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • discuss audit methodologies for application software development; and
  • apply this knowledge in understanding and assessing the entities ability to manage their application software development function

Instructional Format
Facilitated classroom discussion and lectures.

Duration
Three days.

Level
Intermediate.

Target Audience
Risk Management Examiners with 12-15 months on the job experience conducting IT examinations and an expectation of examining in-house-developed applications in a financial institution or technology service provider.

Prerequisites
Participant should have attended ITEC and all Basic Level courses
