FDIC New York Region Regulatory Teleconference: Regulatory Expectations for Loan Participations Thursday, April 4, 2013
On April 4, 2013, the FDIC's New York Region hosted a Regional Regulatory Teleconference. Our topic for the teleconference was “Regulatory Expectations for Loan Participations” The session discussed proper accounting for loan participations, including what constitutes a true sale; regulatory expectations for credit risk management practices including Advisory Bulletin (FIL-38-2012); risks associated with participations purchased, and common examination criticisms. Our speakers, Regional Accountant George Herger and Senior Examiner Larry Reynolds provided unique insights from an accounting and examination perspective.
