Deploying Intrusion Detection Systems
Program Overview
This classroom training is designed to assist RMS IT Examiners in implementing intrusion detection systems.
Attendees should have an intermediate knowledge of information technology
and security concepts.
Key Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Detect and respond to network and host-based intruder attacks,
- Integrate intrusion detection systems (IDSs) into current network topology,
- Identify methods hackers use to break into network systems,
- Respond to intruders attacks,
- Analyze network traffic and detect attacks using the latest tools and techniques,
- Deploy and manage several IDSs, and
- Create an effective response strategy based on organizational needs.
Instructional Format
Hands-on computer instruction, lecture, and discussion.
Duration
Four and one-half days.
Level
Intermediate.
Target Audience
IT Subject Matter Experts and IT Examiners.

Participant should have attended ITEC and
all Basic Level courses
