First Community Bank of East Tennessee, Rogersville, Tennessee, has contacted the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to report that counterfeit checks bearing the institution's name are in circulation.
The counterfeit items display the routing number 064204075, which is assigned to First Community Bank of East Tennessee. The items display a security feature statement embedded within a darkened top border. The word "Memo" is displayed in the lower-left corner and one signature line is displayed in the lower-right corner.
First Community Bank issues cashier's checks, and authentic cashier's checks display a vertical security feature statement and padlock icon within the right border. They display a "NOTICE" statement and the word "REMITTER" in the top-left corner. The words "Cashiers Check" appear in the top-right corner. Two signature lines appear in the lower-right corner.
Copies of a counterfeit item and an authentic check (VOID) are attached for your review. Be aware that the appearance of counterfeit items can be modified and that additional variations may be presented.
