SUBJECT: Counterfeit Official Checks
Summary: Counterfeit official checks drawn on Wilson State Bank, Wilson, Texas, and International Bank of Commerce, Laredo, Texas, are in circulation.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has learned that counterfeit cashier's checks drawn on Wilson State Bank, Wilson, Texas, are currently in circulation. The counterfeit instruments include the bank's routing number of 111319004. The counterfeit items appear to be almost exact duplicates of the bank's genuine checks. Attached for your review is copy of a genuine check (void).

Counterfeit official checks drawn on International Bank of Commerce, Laredo, Texas, are also in circulation. The items display the institution's routing number of 114902528, but do not use the correct account number. The counterfeit instruments bear no resemblance to the bank's genuine checks, including the type. The counterfeit instruments are titled "Official Checks," while the bank's genuine checks are titled "Cashier's Checks." An example of a counterfeit item and a copy of a genuine cashier's check (void) are attached for your review.
