| SUBJECT: | Division of Compliance
and Consumer Affairs' Revised FDIC Compliance Examination Manual |
The FDIC's Division of Compliance and Consumer Affairs (DCA) has revised the FDIC Compliance Examination Manual as part of its effort to streamline the compliance/Community Reinvestment Act examination process. An order form to obtain a copy of the manual is attached. The revised manual covers the examination process from pre-examination planning to report preparation. It includes the FDIC's compliance/CRA examination policies, an explanation of DCA's functions, and overviews and objectives of both. The new manual is now in a loose-leaf binder to facilitate future updates. The frequency of updates will be based on changes in: consumer protection/fair lending laws and regulations or the Community Reinvestment Act, or The fee for the two-volume set is $100, which includes the cost of the original manual and all future manual updates. In the near future, DCA plans to offer the manual on CD ROM with hypertext search capability and on the Internet. To order a copy of the manual, please complete the attached order form and mail it to the address shown on the form. For information on CD ROM availability, please indicate your interest on the order form.
