SUBJECT: Counterfeit Cashier's Checks
Summary: Counterfeit cashier's checks drawn on Merchants and Manufacturers Bank, Joliet, Illinois, are reportedly in circulation.

Merchants and Manufacturers Bank, Joliet, Illinois, has reported to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) that counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the institution's name are in circulation.

Counterfeit items closely resemble authentic cashier's checks. Both the counterfeit items and the authentic cashier's checks are printed on blue safety check paper; however, counterfeit items display an incorrect routing number of 079019190. Additionally, authentic instruments have a small decorative border. A copy of a counterfeit item and an authentic cashier's check (VOID) are attached for your review.
