Dallas Region Bankers' Conference Call: Forward-Looking Bank Supervision

Tuesday December 1, 2009
2:00 pm - 3:00 pm CST

The FDIC Dallas Region will host a Regulatory Conference Call to discuss the regulatory perspective of Forward-Looking Bank Supervision. Analysis of recent bank failures has identified commonalities over which bank policymakers possess control. During this regulatory conference call, we’ll discuss these commonalities, as well as some concrete measures bankers can take to make their financial institutions stronger and less susceptible to loss. FDIC staff will provide an update on the impact these lessons have had on the examination process, and will address bankers’ questions. Discussion topics will include:

  • Components of a Strong Risk Management Program
  • The Regulatory Impact When Risk Management Practices Are Weak
  • Components of Forward-Looking Risk Assessments
  • Regulatory Policies, Procedures, and Strategies
  • Banker Recommendations
  • Question and Answer Session
