Q. Do I need a special computer to use the CBI?

A. Below is a list of Minimum Computer Requirements for the Money Smart CBI.

CBI Online Web Version
  • 800 x 600 display
  • 8-bit color
  • Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/Vista or Macintosh OS
  • 56k Internet access
  • Internet Explorer 5.0 (or higher) or Netscape 4.04 (or higher)
  • Adobe Flash (get.adobe.com)
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Standard speakers or headphones and a sound card recommended
CBI CD-ROM Version
  • 800 x 600 display
  • 8-bit color
  • Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/Vista or Macintosh OS
  • 16x CD-ROM
  • A web browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator are acceptable)
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Standard speakers or headphones and a sound card recommended

Q. Can I leave the Money Smart program and come back later?

A. Yes. The Online CBI program will remember where you stopped, as long as you come back in using the same name and other identification responses on the login screen as you used the previous time. You will be prompted whether you want to resume where you left off. If you are using the CBI CD-ROM, you must also use the same computer that you used the previous time.
