This map shows the percentage of direct government payments in relation to 1999 total farm receipts. North Dakota and Kansas had the most counties that had 20% or more of income from the government. Minnesota and Missouri had the most counties with 10% or less. Iowa, South Dakota, and Nebraska mostly had 10% to 20% of income from direct government payments.
